Trip Overview

Mera peak climbing is one of the popular trekking peaks in Nepal. It is a stunning peak that rises south of Mount Everest, dominating inhabitants Hinku and Honku Valley. The hidden sanctuary of grassland, lakes and glaciers connects Mera Peak with Island Peak and Everest to the north.

Hightlights:

  • Walk via the remote valleys – Hinku and Honku that link Mera with Everest & Island peak to the north.
  • Enjoy the different colors of native Rhododendron forests blossom (especially in springtime)
  • See the scenic view of the highest mountains in the world from the summit.
  • Experience the less–trodden route in the busy Everest region.

Description:

Mera peak climbing altitude scales at the 6, 461 m/52,98, 02 ft, which is one highlight of this beautiful climb. The top of the peak blesses with the top five 8000 m tallest peaks of the world. Thus, the journey to Mera peak climbing in Nepal is a truly a life-changing achievement.

The itinerary takes you through the less trodden trail of the Khumbu region. Unlike the busy trail of Everest Base Camp, climbing to the Mera is more into the remote valleys of the Khumbu region. It is more a combination of beautiful, remote trekking enjoying the magnificent mountain scenery.

Climb to Mera is a good mountain option for trekkers, who are looking for a straightforward introduction to mountaineering. More portions of the ascent require a walk up a glacier with basic ice-axe and crampons skills.

Mera peak climbing in Nepal encompasses three main summits; Mera North (6,476 m), Mera Central (6,461 m) and Mera South (6,065 m). Most agencies operate Mera Central, which we also run. For climbing Mera Central, it normally compromises a 30 m ascent of a 60 degree snow section using fixed rope and jumar, based on the snow conditions.

You can also attempt our next popular trip, Island Peak Climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek. You will surely have a good time in the mountain.

You may have to use a fixed row in this section if the leader says. Reaching the summit, enjoy the amazing views over the Himalayas, which are difficult to describe in words. It has unparalleled sights from the top. After creating great experiences, we descend to High camp, where we will have our much required lunch, then retrace the path down to Khare.
