With stunning views of Himalayan ranges above 7000m – Ganesh Himal (7,600m/24, 928 ft), Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,616 ft) and Langtang -II (7,227m/23,704 ft), the Langtang valley is one of the stunning places in Nepal. The beauty of the Langtang region is enhanced by its diverse wildlife, including over 1000 plants, 150 bird species, red pandas, monkeys, and wild deer. The Langtang Valley trek can be done without dramatic flights, cancellation, and for easy access.

Your Langtang valley Trek 11 days begins with a tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. The next day, you have a drive to Sybrabesi, the official starting point of your trek. You will trek into the territory of Langtang National Park and visit Kyanjin Gompa. You’ll walk through a forest to reach the alpine meadows and yak pastures by Kyangin Gompa, a large Buddhist shrine in Langtang. If you can also climb Tserko Ri for excellent sunrise views over Himalayan vistas. After that, you retrace your trail back down the valley and drive back to Kathmandu.

The 2015 earthquake made lots of changes in the region. However, tourism is slowly coming to the region. Likewise, the trekking trails are reconstructing and people are gently reviving their lives with the help of aid. As a result, the place is gradually gaining its grandeur. Your visit further will support its people to rebuild their livelihood.

Langtang Trek with Helicopter

You can fly back to Kathmandu by helicopter. If restricted time-wise and budget is not a problem, then you can think of a helicopter? We can arrange it for you. Namaste! SheNature family welcomes you to Nepal. You can arrive at your convenient hour. After going through customs, look for us at the terminal area. We are there to pick you up and transfer to your hotel. On the way, we will brief you about the Kathmandu city. After check-in at the hotel, freshening up and getting adequate rest, you can visit the nearby area on your own or ask for help. In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today, you have a tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO world heritage sites. Kathmandu city has a special aura in the early morning hours. Thus, we will wake up early, have breakfast and start the tour of historical and spiritual places. The visit covers Durbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Monkey Temple, and Boudhanath – the largest Buddhist shrine in the world. After tour compilation, we will brief you about your trek, where you will meet your trek leader along with other members. If you have questions regarding your upcoming adventure, please let us know. Wake up early for your drive to Syabrubesi, the official starting point of the trek. Once leaving Kathmandu valley, the road climbs high over ridges that provide stunning views of Manasulu, Ganesh Himal. Along the route, you will pass through terraces carved, traditional farms and forests. Your journey will pass through the busy Trishuli riverside settlement and ascend towards the green valley of Dunche. From here, it is an hour’s downhill drive to Syabrubesi.

You leave Syabrubesi and walk through the Bhote Kosi River that flows from Tibet. Climb further slowly via subtropical forests of oak and rhododendron. Here, watch out for monkeys swinging in the trees. Today, you enter one of the oldest and ecologically rich national parks in Nepal ‘Langtang National Park’. From here, your climb will be steep before reaching the Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

The trail resumes through forest above the Langtang Khola, with casual glances of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) between trees. After a steep path, you arrive at Ghodatabela (3030m), a farmhouse of horses and donkeys for transportation. The route emerges from the forest at the place and the mountains overshadow on either side of the valley. The trek goes uphill and the valley gets wider. There are some temporary settlements used by herders for their animals in the summer.. In addition, you watch Yaks grazing on a high altitude pasture. Moving on, we see Tamang households, mills, Buddhist flags and prayer wheels along the way. Crossing the stream, we arrive at Langtang village (3500m). The village reminds of the destructive 2015 earthquake. Before Langtang village had many lodges after a devastating earthquake, the place turn into a big rock field. You can spare a thought for the locals and tourists who lost their lives here. Your travel to this place will surely support the survivors. Another half an hour’s walk further on will land us to Mundu. We will spend the night here with amazing views of mountains and a fresh atmosphere. Overnight at Mundu.

Today the trail climbs gently via yak pastures. The valley opens out further and the views become more expansive. Passing Mani Stone wall, many small streams, chortens, religious mounds of rock with words carved and moraines. You settle at Kingman. Here, you can notice ice flowing from the Langtang Lirung. Mountains will surround you on the way to visit a small monastery called Kyangjin Gompa. As you will arrive by lunchtime, you have time to explore the nearby areas. Overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

Today is the most important day of the trek, as you will explore the highest point – Tserko Ri. Therefore, wake up early in the morning and climb up all the way to Tserko Ri. The sunrise view from the Tserko Ri is exceptional. The view of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Naya Kanga, and Yubra Himal from the top is stunning.. Get back to Kyangjin Gompa, where you can visit the government cheese factory and the monastery. Overnight at Kyangjin Gompa.

After breakfast, you retrace the trail as you climbed up to the Kyangjin Gompa. You walk downhill passing ethnic Tamang villages. Tamang people migrated centuries earlier, so they follow a similar tradition and culture of Tibetan. From Ghoda Tabela, the trail is steep descend to Lama Hotel. The descent will surely be faster than ascending; however, we need to be careful while walking down too. Overnight at Lama Hotel.

You trek back through the same way that you took earlier, passing through quiet forested hills. The descent will be easy to descend towards Syabrubesi. Overnight at Syabrubesi.

You drive back to Kathmandu, leaving the tranquility of the place. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you can rest at your hotel, pack for tomorrow’s departure, or use the time making last-minute souvenir shopping. We will host a farewell dinner in the evening on the completion of your trip.

The Langtang valley trek is 133 km away from Kathmandu city. This trek can be done in 8—10 days.

The special features of Langtang region trekking are beautiful cedar forests and flowers, magnificent mountains that include Shishapangma (one of the 8000 m peaks), Ganesh, Langtang, Jugal Himal and Manaslu Massif. 

Langtang valley is a moderate trek. The prior experience of this trip is not that much required. However, the route accumulates altitudes; you need to be physically fit and in good health to attempt the trek.

Yes, Langtang valley trek is safe. It is one of the best treks in Nepal. During the 2015 earthquake, the route was damaged. However, now the trail is safe and has traveled many times.
