Trip Overview

Gokyo Valley preserves Nepal’s identity as the Himalayan Shangri-La. With its bright, untouched blue water, Gokyo Lake is one of Nepal’s most beautiful views. Adding the Renjo La pass (5,340 m) to the journey makes it more memorable as you will walk through the lesser-known paths of the Everest region. Walk through the Gokyo Valley along with Renjo La Pass offers more diverse natural views compared to the Everest Base Camp Trek.

FAQ's

The Gokyo Valley Trek with Renjo La pass is a moderate trek. The Renjo La pass is the easiest pass among the three popular passes of the Everest region. However, it does not mean that the pass is not challenging. Compared to the Length of Kongma La crossing and glacier cross of Cho La pass, the Renjo La pass does not impose any special challenge on the trekkers.

Gokyo Valley Trek accommodation is just like Everest Base Camp. Since we avoid the busy trail of Everest, the volume in the lodge is less.

The highest point of the trek is Gokyo Ri, which is 5,483 m. The classic point from where the ultimate views of Himalaya grow on you. There is another prime point we reach on this trek is Renjo la pass. From here, a wide range view of Gokyo Ri, Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village is marvelous. Spectacular south view of Everest swallows you further.

Gokyo Ri is trekkers paradise. The west side of the Ngozumpa glacier is blessed with the splendid views of the Himalayas, including the mighty Everest. The views from the place surpass the scene even being around Mt. Everest.
